The Management Team
Will Haggarty 1st Team Manager
Will has been the manager since September 1999,
originally taking on the role as player-manager. Now well retired from the
playing side of things he now concentrates on the management side of things.
Joined the club in 1988 when Cranborne played in the Dorset Combination and
generally played in midfield or at full back (or on the bench!). His highlight
as a Cranborne player was probably when the club won the Bankes Senior Cup in
1992. Also when Cranborne played in Belgium in 2002 against his former club
RBBFC, was also a proud moment. His lowest point was sustaining a spiral
fracture on his right tibia in 1994 that meant he spent 6 months in plaster. His
managerial highlights for such a short time are many. Finishing as runners up in
Division 3 North & East in 2000/1 was special as the feat was achieved with
such a young team. The following season the club won Division 2, the first
Saturday Championship they had won for many years was indeed special. He says,
"season 2002/3 will always be a special one for me. To win the Division 1
Championship and League Cup was an outstanding achievement by the lads. To see
our name on those trophies with the likes of big names such as Dorchester Town
and Weymouth etc. made me feel really happy and proud". He feels with the
players Cranborne have at their disposal there is plenty still to be achieved.

Paul Walters 1st Team Assistant Manager
Paul (or Billy as most people know him) is also a survivor from Cranborne's
Dorset Combination days. He has been the Assistant Manager since 2001 and has
been an integral component in the teams recent successes. Prior to joining
Cranborne as a player Billy played in the Combination with Shaftesbury. During
Cranborne's spell in the Combination he managed the team for a while, so he has
plenty of experience in that department to offer. The partnership he has struck
up with Haggarty has been a successful one and it looks sure to continue. He
also no longer plays anymore, but he is still as passionate as ever about his
football, especially when it comes to Cranborne and Portsmouth! Billy also feels
the season that lies ahead for the club will be another exciting and successful
one.
Mike Barry Reserve Team Manager
This
will be Mike Barry's third season in the Reserve teams hot-seat. Last seasons
achievement of winning promotion to Division 3 North and East was a marvellous
achievement and also a very important one as the club looks to progress. Mike
generally runs the training sessions and it's testament to his efforts that both
our teams look to be amongst the fittest teams in their respective divisions.
Mike was previously in charge of Christchurch Youth and his connections at this
level has seen quite a few young players join the club in the last couple of
seasons. His squad continues to get stronger and he is also very optimistic
about the season that lies ahead for Cranborne Reserves.
